With the cool summer, the normal algae growth on the sides of the pond were not sufficient to satisfy the turtles craving for vegetable material, so they ate my water lilies down to the level of the pots. Very expensive turtle food. I decided to build an addition to the pond to grow water lilies and other water plants. This is the first in a series of videos showing the construction of the pool using the same lightweight concrete and recycled stryofoam that I used on the pond.

  • Did you have to pour a footer for the new walls of the lily pool?

  • @rshotrod1965 No, the weight of the pool is negligible. It is rather like a bathtub set on the top of the ground. There is a pea gravel base under the bottom. The pool is about 75% styrene foam.
