In this clip from 'Pioneers of Television: Crime Dramas' (2011) Bruce Geller's original 'Mission: Impossible' TV series is looked at. It features contemporary interviews with Martin Landau, Barbara Bain, Leonard Nimoy, and the late Peter Graves.
I'm glad Peter Graves himself acknowledged that the scripts went way downhill after season 4, with season 5 being the worst of the whole series - God, some episodes were downright awful ! Still, Mission: Impossible is my favourite show ever, very astute, thrilling, cleverly written, breathtaking and then some. It's a shame the movies were so god damn atrocious.
" Mission Impossible " was the ONLY whodunit TV show ( later turned into a movie franchise ) which showcase what 2 expect about the life of a SECRET AGENT in the field... the gadgets used herein was close 2 reality ( real spy tools for the trade ) except that their true nomenclatures weren't declassified...
