My guest, LAUREN ARTRESS is a Canon at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. She visited the labyrinth in Chartres, and wrote three books on the power of the labyrinth. Her first "installation" was a copy from the authentic walkway at Chartres, for Grace Cathedral. From there, the Global Labyrinth Movement was started. Her book, Walking a Sacred Path describes the many aspects of the journey, which is as diverse as the people experiencing it; from sobbing a lifetime of pain away, to seeing angels and Christ at the center, to having a consciousness/paradigm shift in spirit. No one seems to come out quite the same, and it evokes the mystery of metaphor, going within to discover one's OWN connections to source. We also covered the myths, such as c, the symbol of an Axe which is like a chalice, representing the divine feminine womb of creation, the connections to numerology and astrology and the esoteric meaning created by the mysterious group Knights Templar and the Freemasons of later periods. Lauren leads groups at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, and heads up tours to walk the Chartres Labyrinth. She also trains others to be facilitators. A permanent Labyrinth is installed outdoors at Grace Cathedral, for all who choose to walk this simple, yet complex transformational path any time of the day.
