@clearboy68 Tis' a shame that everyone thinks that 'The Animals' wrote it, when infact, they just popularized it. The song was actually about a Soho brothel that dates back to the sixteenth century, the song was brought to America and adapted into what became a traditional english folk song. Of coarse, factors such as the location (now set as New Orleans), were altered, amoung other lyrics.
