Federal Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull has admitted on national television that he has smoked marijuana, and says he is still off his face and loving it.

Mr Turnbull had the ABC's Q&A program to himself and he smiled his way through many a topic.

"Yes, I have smoked pot," he said on the show.

"It makes me so happy... I can't stop laughing"

"I think most well not most, many people have, it wasn't a mistake to do so."

He says it was a long time ago when he started and it was a lot cheaper to buy back then.

"...and as leader of the opposition, I still prefer joints" he reiterated that point several times.

Mr Turnbull discussed all sorts of things on the program.

"I'm a dog lover but that doesn't mean I'd do anything cruel to a cat," he said.

"You look like a fuzzy rabbit Tony"

"I like pineapples - no no, corn-chips and ice-cream, Tony - definitely."

  • @ozmusic657 No your probably right, he doesnt step out of policy line that often and if he does , he's not screaming it from the rooftops. Ive only ever voted labor , but acknowledge the importance of good opposition. This bloke is the closest thing the liberal party have to a good leader. Tony Abbott is dangerous, I'd never vote for anyone who is a fundamentalist religious person like he is. Very dangerous!

  • @perf5paul speaks against the liberal party? what, what WHAT?!

when has he ever expressed a personal thought about liberal policy other than when he not so subtly alluded to it. He might be a sensible conservative, but he cant do shit in that joke of an opposition party, at least not with abott running the show.

    He's not self made.

But anyways, what we need more of is someone like paul keating, who can actually engage people in politics. Lets try and overcome some of this apathy.

  • @ozmusic657 I know he's a filthy rich investment banker, but isnt he a self made man? But I like the guy because he speaks the truth , either against the labor party or his own liberal party. He doesnt need his job as a MP and will stand up for what he believes or what is sensible. We need more people like him in parliament.

  • @perf5paul why do you say that? he was born with a silver spoon jammed up his arse

  • @ozmusic657 He has every right to be.

  • lol He's pret switched on so I doubt he does it and if he does it would be rare.

  • Bush, Clinton, Turnbull, Howard all admit to smoking weed...

Souless dogs with no regard for other people, fueled by the christian lobby groubs and tobbaco, drug and alcohol industrys against weed. They should all face court next week, or they admit their policy is illogical and sickening.

  • I love how Tony used the term 'joint' in this segment. Just reminds me, that Tony Jones is the most interesting, and entertaining TV personality in Australia.
