This is the church choir in the village of Zolokere, Malawi, Africa. I happen to walk by while they were rehearsing. For licensing information please visit:

  • name of the song?

  • Tawonga. I'm not really a Tumbuka speaker, but I'm pretty sure it means 'We should be thankful' or 'thank you'

  • Lovely! Thanks so much for this. They could do an album, and a tour.

  • That accapella singing is so beautiful! I wish that someone who speaks that language [which language is it btw?] would post a translation of the words. I also wish that CDs and videos of this choir would be produced to help support the choir and their families & community. It's great to hear the music for free, but it would be even better to give something back to this choir after hearing the music.
