Here's another video clip from my trip across the country of France, in which Arco and I are struggling to leave the city of Paris. Having entered le périph, better known to outsiders as the Périphérique of Paris, via Porte de Pantin, we drive around the city clockwise in the first part of the movie.
After the pause, we find ourselves on the A10 motorway, also called l'Aquitaine. Since I was too busy filming, we nearly end up on the N20 that runs all the way down to the Spanish border through Orléans, Limoges and Toulouse. At the very end of the clip, we manage to stay on the A10 at the very last moment.

About le périph
"Boulevard Périphérique is a ring road (French: périphérique) around Paris. It is a frequently congested stretch of 4- to 8-lane dual carriageway, and is one of the busiest freeway/motorways in Europe, with traffic between 1.1 and 1.2 million vehicles per day in 2002.
Travelling speed on the road is limited to 80 km/h (50 mph). It does not feature a hard shoulder, and gives priority to entering vehicles. It was built in the early 1970s on the empty space left abandoned after the destruction of the defense wall of Paris in the 1920s, and completed on April 25, 1973. It is the generally-accepted boundary between the city proper (approx. 2 million inhabitants) and the suburbs (more than 9 million inhabitants), as it is situated along Paris's administrative limit (excluding the Paris heliport and the outlying woods of Boulogne and Vincennes).
When travelling at the legal speed limit, it takes 26 minutes and 17 seconds to complete a full circuit. The street racer Ghost Rider completed a circuit in 9 minutes and 57 seconds.
The périphérique, commonly referred to as "le périph" by Parisians, is administered by the government of the city of Paris."

About the A10 autoroute
"The A10, also called L'Aquitaine, is an Autoroute in France, running from the A6 south of Paris to the A630 at Bordeaux. (...) All of the A10 is part of the E-road E5; it is also part of the E50 north of the A11 split near Chartres and the E60 between exit 14 at Orléans and exit 19 at Tours. The majority of the A10 is a toll road; it is only free north of the N104 near Paris, between exits 20 and 22 in Tours, and south of the N10 (exit 39) near Bordeaux."
