Patri Friedman, executive director and chairman of the Seasteading Institute, argues that government is an institution greatly in need of improvement, but one in which innovation is nearly impossible. He proposes building start-up countries at sea as the solution. "What we need," explains Friedman, "is a new physical frontier, a blank canvas for experiments."

  • @Socoolscienceshow Perry - Not a libertarian.

    Beck - Not a libertarian.

Bachmann - Not even close to a libertarian.

Palin - Are you fucking kidding me?

Most libertarians are atheists, actually. There are going to be exceptions, but listing random republicans and neo-conservatives doesn't count.

  • @Socoolscienceshow why do you hate libertarian? They hate big businesses sleeping in bed with big government, they are against the bailout. They don't like evil rich! This artificial island is headed by true entrepreuners who believe in hard work and innovation, not forcing people to give them profit thru manipulating the government.

  • @Houshalter

I understand the others but why is Glenn Beck not a Libertarian?

  • Ron Paul 2012!

  • this guy looks like a monkey

  • Very ambiguous idea that seems cool to imagine but also much like a child's imaginary world. This would most likely cause huge instability in the world rather than "political experimentation."

  • @Houshalter Oil dericks are succseful floating structures.

  • Does this guy look stupid with a beard or what????

  • @zachomis

More like it passes laws to prevent the private sector from working on things, and then steals our money so that they can "get it done" and save us all, when they're not fighting wars. Thank you, government!

  • @MWJEFF1 because no one has ever successfully built floating structures in the history of mankind. That's totally an unrealistic idea.

  • @zachomis ya, how would we ever fund wars and subsidies without our almighty government overlords? Giving people a choice under what government they get to live under is just such a terrible idea. What if they chose no government? How would we force them to obey our arbitrary rules and give us their money?

  • @Houshalter thank you! i have to say though that technically one can be a member of the Republican Party and be a libertarian (they just wouldn't agree with a lot of the platform). But you're right, conservative does not equal libertarian. I'm sick of progressives twisting that.
