  • Really enjoyed that mate. How long did it take to get used to the tuning and could you post a tutorial of some sort i.e. the finger placement etc. All the best.

  • @111chazz cheers m8, its much easier than it looks. the tunin does most of the work. checkout john martyn guitar freaks site for tabs

  • really excellent acoustic guitar player...

    maybe a little too fast.

spent next 'noons in exercise myself, it makes me gettin older a little slower, they tell (the right brain emisphere, you know....)

  • lol thx, i hav to play fast cuz the batteries on my camera run out real quick!

  • great playing......i love playing these songs, what a great tuning! And John Martyn, just the best....definatley one of my fav songwriters, and amazing singer. You play these very well, are you using a martin?

I saw you do do winding boy months ago and loved it, and learnt it also, now i see you doing this....great stuff!!!

  • the guitar i use is a cheapo one from argos i think. i apologise for the sound quality, i just put some new strings on and it was tuned way down to giv them chance to adjust. i kinda put this vid on in a rush not long after hearin john had passed away. thx for ur comment

  • maaannnn!!! I've got a lot of work to do. Fantastic playing sir. Love your other stuff by the way. Respect.

  • That chord & rhythm change from "Certain Surprise" to "I Couldn't Love" gets me every time.

    Nice job at it!

    Thanks for posting.

  • Bloody good job on this. You mean you're not using the John Martyn signature model (a snip at 4,399 pounds)? Anyway, must pay a visit to Argos on one of my visitis home to UK now.

Great instructional piece btway, your fingering seen well on the vid' and quality good.

Anyroad, thanks for posting this. Yer got mi' stars from mi' pocket.
