Based on the character created by Robert E. Howard (creator of Conan the Barbarian), Captain Solomon Kane is a brutally efficient 16th Century killing machine. Armed with his signature pistols, cutlass and rapier, he and his men unleash their bloodlust as they fight for England in war after war on all continents.

The film stars British actor James Purefoy (The Philanthropist, Rome, Vanity Fair) and was directed/written by Michael J. Bassett.

With Solomon Kane, Conan and his other heroes, iconic American writer Robert E. Howard created the genre now known as SWORD & SORCERY, in the late 1920s and early 1930s. His work has spawned countless imitators and given rise to his influence in the fantasy genre which can be rivaled only by J.R.R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings). Now just shy of a decade later, Solomon Kane is poised to be the next great film trilogy.

You guys are idiots. Van Helsing was a piece of Hollywood trash, nothing else. This seems genuinely inspired by Howard's most revered (if not most popular) character. I can't wait.

I just saw this a couple of night`s ago. It was a really good movie. Until the ending, I didn't like the CGI Monster Fight, but it end`s with a question...Will they make a 2nd movie?!

I would really like a stop to this "Van Helsing" crap. I loved Van Helsing cause it was fun and goofy and just a good time, but it is nothing like Solomon Kane. Kane was written decades before Helsing and is a far deeper character and a far better film.  Let's please end it here.
