  • Thaks a lot. This video taught me how to tie this hitch perfectly. This seems like the perfect knot to secure my new kayak to the roof of my Honda Accord.

  • @jifigz Thanks for your comment. Don't know where you are in the country, but if you ever make it to Salmon River, Siskiyou County, Northern California, let us know! There are good kayak runs.....

  • Here's the first time I've seen a reliable way to lock the sheepshank version. You use a half hitch on the sheepshank ear at the top... so simple.

  • After messing around for the better part of a year trying to figure out the best way to tie the Trucker's Hitch, I think this might be it. I like the sheepshank version or truckies hitch as it's known around the world but it can be tampered with. This version eliminates the tampering possibility by the half hitch he ties above the upper loop. Real nice video and I really like the half hitch lock of the sheepshank.

  • @trailblazersonline I would love to make it out to California someday. Right now, however, I am nestled in the Appalachians in central Pa. The northwest does seem magical though.
