I attached an LED light to my crystal radio and it worked surprisingly well..
I found the Schematic for this Crystal Radio on Jim McNutt's web site. It was called the Pixie 2 His web site is http://www.wa6otp.com/

  • Have you put any external antenna? If yes, how many meters? Thanks

  • @ifzq0 Yes it has an external antenna about 20 meters long. I'm sure if I extend the antenna

my crystal radio will put out more power.

  • Yes it Really could give you that much power, it is a tuned circuit precisely tuned to the local radio station

  • I doubt it has that much of power!

  • Can you make it use all power to light more leds? I mean, using no speaker, soo you have more power an can plug-in more leds? It think it will make for a impressive video! Like so much of this, and it think can get even more impressive if you use two or may more leds. Or you can make a joule thief and power a fluorescent bulb, maybe? How did you get such high power?

  • @StumpyHead79 I wouldn't know how to go about building such a device, but it does sound intriguing. If you ever do please let me know how it works out.

  • @GrantsPassTVRepairs well i did see a video here with a man doing exactly that... he used 3 coils, but used a tester (or something) to tune/match their resonant frequencies and was (allegedly) drawing energy from the ambient radio waves (which are there all the time and at all bands in the electro magnetic spectrum). Think about it, if we can get energy from light, and from radio waves, what about the rest of the electro magnetic spectrum? i think new materials are needed???

  • @StumpyHead79 @GrantsPassTVRepairs Using additional coils sounds like an interesting experiment, but I suspect they will interfere with each other.

  • @GrantsPassTVRepairs but, i was taught that when you de-tune a radio, the static you hear is actually radio frequencies so...? i also saw a video on youtube where a man uses 3 coils in the same way you use one, but he tunes them all to the same frequency. i mean, the natural resonant frequency or something like that, and he was (claiming) to draw energy from the background radio waves that are all around us. what do you think about that? possible? or maybe connect multiple coils in series??
