to manoffaith3112...."wanting to be better for the sake of being better" sounds like its all about you, eh? No. Its ALL about God and our relationship to Him. You should fear the path of wrath. Being good for the sake of being good will still get you to the same place as those who are bad for the sake of being bad.

even though i do exept jesus i have doubts that i am always not good enogh and that even though i call him my god my lord he will still send me to hell because of it, i have real faith and trust issues :(

Perhaps by our earthly standards you are morally better then me; especially my younger past. However, it doesn't change the fact you need someone to pay for breaking God's law. Sir, our righteousness can't compare to a perfect God. Please don't die in your sins.

It comes down to obedience to the Lord after repentance. Having a close relationship with Him is possible. But its not just belief ; Its turning away from sin through prayer, and obeying His will. He will give you strength to over come after becoming a brand new person through the Savior; Jesus. You can be His friend and He laid down His life for His friends because of loving you. Its so great to have a friend always being with you. Don't die in your sins. There is hell to pay.
