@mess9u2 Yeah, or maybe he should have stayed in his own country - the USA - and dealt with what was going on there. Those "comments about America" were right on the money by the way, Mayor Daley DID send the police in to brutalise protestors and within a few months one of the main leaders of the protests at the time was openly assassinated by the police. Besides which, what do you know about Israel in 1968? They had just fought off an external attack from three Arab nations.
@Misslissmissymiss There were two huge issues in the 60's in which people were protesting: 1) civil rights; and 2) the Vietnam war. There was a huge generational gap between fathers and sons concerning the war. Back in the 60s, there was a draft where 18 year old boys (and older) were being drafted into the army. Obviously, this was not too popular with the younger kids.
