I agree about the space program too.Think of what humankind can do if we eliminate warring with ourselves and explore our own galaxy!Unfortunately some countries on this world have other plans of conquest and enslavement of human populations.

The Bush/McCain budget deficit has now reached $500 billion, not including the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan which adds another $200 billion. That is $13.5 billion each week that Bush/McCain is spending that we do not have. That is more than the capitalization of Southwest Airlines, or Ford, or Nordstrom, or CBS, or Starbucks.
Each week Bush/McCain must borrow a Fortune 500 company from the Chinese. Next week, Campbell's Soup, the week after, General Motors, then Best Buy.

Mitch McConnell and his fellow Republicans have basically been filibustering every bill til the oil companies get what they want. But, surely, they wouldn't put the oil companies over America's defense needs when we're in the middle of two wars??? Wrong. They did. Seriously, they they filibustered a bill, S. 3001, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009, which, among other things, provided pay raises for troops, health care and protection from IEDs.
