Kinlochshiel keeper (Graham Kennedy) saves penalty with his head to win Ballie Cup. Unintentional so constitutes as a save and not a foul, although why anyone would want to save a slioter with his head is beyond me!

A great game...Id like to vist Scotland and a shinty game would be near the top of my list on things to do. I have only ever seen it live when Scottish fellas were playing against hurlers here. I wouldnt mind giving it a go if i ever lived there. Are there any Irish playing shinty in the top level? I play hurling fairly well I presume it wouldnt be that difficult to adjust to Shinty? it would be hard not to catch the ball or put it over the goal for a point!

Seriously though, during the season, some shinty games are shown on BBC ALBA and BBC Scotland (available across the whole of the UK and Ireland via satellite for free unlike RTE/TG4! which is encrypted via "BSKYBastards"). And remember, like GAA, these guys don't get paid - unlike the Premiership Prima Donna's

@HomerJenkins Ah if i ever move to scotland i'll go mad without hurling so if there is no hurling clubs i'll have to give shinty a go! How come the shinty caman stayed the same after years and years while the irish camán changes gradually every decade? look at irish camán from a hundered years ago and look at it now...the bas is after getting massive. As for the goalie camans they are like fuckin frying pans!

I used to play in this team with Graham 15 yrs ago and he is fearless and he's carrying a wee bit too much weight to play outfield(sry Graham) but he was even better as a defender.......NAILS.

I'm a Afro American and I follow Gaelic football, hurling, cricket, Aussie footy, shinty, soccer, American football, Canadian football, rugby union, rugby league, etc.

I can't stand basketball and baseball.

I love this kind of sport: shinty along with Gaelic football and hurling.

Shinty and hurling are the greatest sports I've ever seen.lol
