  • My family rented a cabin at the Town and Country Club in 1959. I recall the smell of wild fennel growing near the fenceline and saw the honeybees landing on the yellow flowers of unripe seedpods and the yellow jacket wasps flying around too. On the ground, the cats came to us. By the swimming pool, we saw people tanning themselves while others were jumping from the diving board into the cool pool below. At night, the sound of the band playing at the pavillion made me happy before I fell asleep.

  • @sfflowerlady BeauBrummels I think

  • What a nice piece! This brings back memories of a lot of places to meet although not this type venue. Fairfax Park Pavillion, Santa Venetia Armory, Petaluma Vets memorial, wow.

  • This is pure nostalgia. Fairfax was the best place for a kid to grow up - period! Sisters and I would grab our towels and head down the hill and across town for hours of fun.

  • I remember getting money from my mom so my brother and I could rent a speedbag! My brother and I would stand on a box to punch the speedbag! It was the greatest place in the world to be a kid.

  • Can I post old still photos

  • My mom Ruby Davidson was a coctail waitress there, And Max's daughter Leslie was a very dear summer friend to me. I even went to a slumber party in one of the cabins with her and her wonderful family.Had after hours dinner with Monty he was a nice man. I miss those days most.

  • does anyone remember Sal Valintino, lifeguard/singer. Went on to form a rock band Brobumbles, spelling might be off but they where big.

  • Aflaaak, remember Mr Beattie. I went to Olympian day camp for years. My brother and sister also. Great times.
