The AR500 doesn't fit into the 'stock' setup as it was made for the AR6110e RX. I wanted to use the AR500 as it has more range than the AR6110e. This is how I installed the AR500. Pretty simple mod and works great now!

  • I gotta say, considering this is a video to show how you modded this plane to make things fit better it's pretty bad! Maybe you should have done the mod before filming so that it actually worked! just take the case off the RX and it's about 1/2 the size. A dab of hot melt on the edge of the circuit board will hold it fine, I've done this many times on small models using Orange RXs without any problem.

  • @Davethebluessinger sure if you want to expose the rx to the elements and risk it breaking. This mod worked perfect, after slicing the canopy a bit(only underneath not visable) and it fit in perfect and now this little plane has so much range

  • hey i got this plane for xmas but i just oppened to put it all together, but it doesnt work any ideas?

  • @davybabycakes Well I will need a little more description. This plane comes as an ARF kit with only the Motor pre-installed really. What Receiver, ESC, and servos did you use? If it isn't powering on, then your ESC probably isn't working. If it is powering on, but isn't controllable, then your RX isn't binded correctly, or it may not be working.

  • @davybabycakes Your ESC will might need to be programed for your lipo battery, I'd assume you are using a 2 cell, so you may need to program your ESC to that. Send me a PM with more info and I'll try to help!

  • if you took the casing off the rx would it fit better?

  • Of course it would :) I would be careful when removing that to make sure you don't damage anything though!

  • Had the same problem but took the 500 back and went with the 6110. STILL have trouble tucking all the battery and balancing wires in under the canopy base though. I was SO afraid to fly mine until it bit the dust one night and now that it's no linger perfect - I'm totally at ease with it. So as a form of stress reduction, I need to wreck ALL of my planes on the first flight, then enjoy stress-free flying from then on. Newbie thinking for you.

  • lol :) all my pet subscribers always seem to spot a pet in all my vids, even when I didn't mean to put them in ;p

  • well i was entertained by your yellow fish when you were taking out the battery :)
