Mayan Apocalypto 2012 (Xibalba)

Think as a prophetic revelation in the name of our Mayan people although we thank Hollywood director, Mr Mel Gibson, on behalf of our remaining Mayan population for promoting our ancient language and Mesoamerican heritage. As an interesting fact, the movie Apocalypto should have been called Xibalba, the Place of Fear, to honor the Popol Vuh mythology (Gibson wrongly says his movie is based on the Popol Vuh book!) because it is the road to the Underworld where our galaxy is heading in the Universe after the 2012 Galactic Alignment as Lord Pakal Ahau suggested to match our Mayan beliefs. Gibson and Safinia missed the chance to write a great Mayan action script for not consulting properly. It would have been awesome to watch the captives struggling as Mayan warriors against other Mayan gladiators in the ancient ballcourt game with the cosmic intricacies and town politics inspired by the Mayan priests, while captives fight for their honor and their lives as the Mayan culture requires. Instead, producer, writer and director confused Aztecs with Mayans. There is a difference of 400 years between Aztecs and Mayans to say the least when the Spaniards arrived to the shores of Central America. Nonetheless, it was a brave cinematical effort. In 1500 years, very few people have had the chance to listen a Mayan dialect for 2 hours.
Anyway, time will tell us everything. For a new beginning, something old has to die first. (We seek a new beginning. In Mayan, "Yan haxtik tuum'ben chuunuj"). See you in 2012.
