From the 2009 ELCA Gathering (Jesus, Justice, Jazz). This was the opening music and lights show that played every night... and got stuck in everyone's head. This is from Saturday, when my group sat on the third balcony in the superdome. Great view, but the clapping is a little loud... JJJ09

The song, as tinytimm13 pointed out, is a recreation of "The Race" by Yello. The car sound at the beginning occurs at the beginning of "The Race" and the rest is from about 1:50 into the song. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KklGBOMRISc#t=1m50s As tinytimm13 pointed out, it does seem to be a recreation, and not just clipped from the actual song. The instrument balance seems slightly different, in my opinion.

  • whats the name of that song??!?!

  • Near as I can tell, it was created specifically for the gathering. I'm hoping it'll be on the gathering CD!

  • Really?!? I swear I heard it from something though, o well, Thanks anyways!

  • Actually... tinytimm13 corrected me. See the video description for more info.

  • citizens with the saints is COMING!!!

  • Who else cant wait till july for 2012 youth gathering!

  • @SpeciallK18 I think it's called The Race, but this version is totally different than that song, it just has the same notes.

  • And also with you!

  • anybody wanna go back? i am craving the feeling i had down there - it was INCREDIBLE!

  • The opening and when everyone in the entire superdome did the moves to "I get down, he lifts me up!" were the best. That one song was definately when we jammed the most.

  • you can download and install YoutubeDownloader which will download this video and put it on your computer. search for youtube downloader in google. once it's installed open it up and enter the url address and hit ok. once its done switch to convert video and find the file and select the file type you want to convert to and hit ok.

    hope this helps

  • the opening was the best, i got goosebumps every time we did that... or maybe it was because it was so cold in there =p anyways that trip was alot of fun, our group was on the floor almost every night

  • also, i have recreated the audio for anyone who would want it. It was cut from the 10 minute single version of "the race". i can send you the link if you wish.

  • TrueJournals, would it be possible in any way to send me the original file of this video? my youth group is attempting to recreate the light show at the service we're leading, telling our congregation about our experience. Yours seems to be the clearest/least shaky video. We were hoping to have a video on the screen while playing with the lighting system in our christian life center. Please let me know!
