I used to do this for a living and I never clip myself on every step...Thas BS...
U just climb the damn tower and secure yourself once you are in position
-
@aaronmadams Meet me then. I have never unclipped both of my lanyards above 30 feet, ever.

Yes OSHA wants a 100% tie off

sorry for my dumb questian, but isn't it wrong your safty conection to be on your back ? In case of fall you will flip, or turn with back to the tower. if it's on a front side, the fall will be not so long and I think it will be better. i do the saame job, and I climb the towers by the same way, but my safty conection is in on the front side of my body ?

When I climb I allways wear a parachute!

After watching probably a hundred YouTube tower videos - yours is the first I have seen done correctly (aside from the idiot with no hard hat) - good climb - stay safe.

I worked for a tower company out of Pelham, Alabama. We were trained 100% tie off
but were encouraged to meet production ,ie. do want it takes. I loved that job until I got married. too much travel. To those that do this for a living be safe. it's just a job and nothing is worth taking shortcuts.

no free climbing? thats whack

@sgtsalyers I would like to know where you work then. In St. Louis tower hands start out (with little experience) at aroud 10 an hour...Which is stupid. There is some co-workers that only make 14 an hour and they have at least two years of experience or more. Thank god he makes more than that. They usually work a 60+ hour week too and the per diem is $90 a day, so they can bring home a little extra but not much.
OSHA would like a 100% tie off. I try too but the truth be told we all cut corners. If this is not true I would like to meet you.
