Long live the emperor! long LIVE THE EMPEROR!!
POLITICAL GENIUS + MILITARY GENIUS = NAPOLEON BONAPARTE!! LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR!!
-
@TheVaughan5 A fair assessment of both. I fear the latter is as true as the former. I love my country, but I am not proud of it in the least.
-
@Drecksdusler says you, since you personally knew him yes. Quite so.
-
@UnitedKorean Because Napoleon has seen too much death to feel the full burden of loss

When Napoleon has escaped from Elba Tallerand was in Vienna, on the Congress. He couldn't talk neither to King nor to Ney. He was proposed to join Napoleon in Paris but refused this offer.

Because he was a complete narcissist. He only loved himself.
His first love and wife died, and he was not able to either visit her in her last days, nor visit her tomb. They tool his wife, and child, his throne, and empire; the English were cruel and unfair with Napoleon.
His Majesty has escaped from the Ilse of Elba, with 1000 soldiers of the Old Guard. Emperor Napoleon conquer France with his boots.
In an "Iron Cage" you are very funny Marshall Ney, I almost believed you.

@mbarana100 I don't totally agree that Napoleon was a hero, he was, like any man, corrupted by absolute power, but a great historical figure and military genius, no doubt about that. I do however, totally agree with you about the U.S.A., it has totally lost it's way and is no longer a country to be admired as it was some 50 or so years ago.
