made in 06/1926..this record is 12" in size and is not long play but plays with the standard edison reproducer, speed is still 80 RPMs...I thought it was only fitting for my DANCE reproducer for this post.. There are five songs on each side, but not a full song(and each song is announced title and record number of the disc which the song was released on.)these were only released to dealers for new releases of edison disc records and were to be returned by the jobbers when they had heard them. apparently this one never got returned..these records are just about as rare as the bunch at orange, I hear some tell me they are even more rare then the long play diamond disc records that edison made. As with other records these SAMPLE RECORDS were not made available for purchase by the public. there are some deep scratches in some of the grooves between the song so pardon for the hand getting in the way....
Songs are
SESQUICENTENIAL EXPOSITION MARCH --51777
VALENCIA-- 51783
TWO EYES IN HAWAII--51763
WHEN THE RED RED ROBIN GOES BOB BOB BOBBIN ALONG--51770
MY DREAM OF THE BIG PARADE--51786

  • How fascinating! If I had walked into an Edison record dealer's shop in 1926, he probably would have played one of these long-play records to acquaint me with the new releases.
