@Kurayamiblack It's a 3D object though, unlike in earlier SW titles. Meh, no big deal, EAW\FOC fell short of their potential. A lot of the covert ops opportunities (like in SW: Rebellion) are missing and ground combat is uninspired.

Wrong. The SSD's are actually longer than the planet in the game. The planet is just a background piece so the game developers had no reason to increase it to life-sized proportions since even at that small size it still looks proper when viewed from normal gameplay. In other words, they didn't try to scale it properly because it's only supposed to be for decoration. Just like the Death Star's tiny size in-game, it's purely for Theatrics (and killing planets).
