Wor Poets at Arts Centre Washington Gill Laverick

Fresh from his success at Washington DCs Poets and Busboys MC Wajid Hussain and Wor Poets took a look at the lighter side of life. The free event took place at Arts Centre Washington on Tuesday 20th of October from 7.30 9pm in the Courtyard Bar. Wor Poets are originally from South Africa, Pakistan, India, the West Indies and the North East where they all now live and work. They present a kaleidoscope of intercultural voices that celebrate the growing cultural diversity of our region. Their work is amusing, touching, enlightening and a surprise to many. Together they make a great evening out. Theyve attracted many fans in a short time; you may become one of them. Supported by Sunderland BME Network, Intercultural Arts and Arts Centre Washington and Funded by Sunderland City Council and The Federation for Community Development Learning as part of the Sankofa Festival of Community Development Learning and the Learning Revolution Festival
