@biomechanical1976 that is correct adam was created before any living creature. in genesis there is two creations adam and eve then mankind. God creates from the top down. adam is a king in a way. most english bibles translate the entire genesis as adam and not mankind on day 6. Cain got his wife by mankind not his sister. your catching on.

Theologically, monotheism, especially Christianity and Islam, are full of crap; however, if you look at it from an academic perspective, it is absolutly fascinating. For me anyway, it is even more interesting because I was raised Catholic, though my parents let me make my own decisions as I got older and at age 18, I eventually left the church. Now, having studied ancient Christianity academically and a self-described agnostic, these stories are even more interesting to me.

In case anyone is wondering, Cain and Able are the first children mention but they are not first in the world. The Bible said after Cain killed Able he was afraid people would kill him for what he did, Unless he was referring to his parents than there must have been other children
