The Southeast of Saline, USD 306, high school Leadership Class from Gypsum, Kansas participated in the 2009 Kansas Distance Learning Week. Students worked with Trane of Kansas City and the Kansas Association for Interactive Distance Education (KAIDE) to broadcast a one hour class about energy efficiency to Kansas Schools via Distance Learning technology. The students developed the lesson plan and designed the class to be very interactive and entertaining. They conducted three experiments to demonstrate energy efficiency. Whats My Wattage compared incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs. Brrr, Its Cold compared various insulators. Checking for Drafts will demonstrate the importance of eliminating drafts.
In this clip, students introduce themselves with a creative rap they wrote and one student talks about the projects they work on throughout the year.
