Steve Vidal is an art teacher at Benito Juarez Community Academy, as well as chair of
the art department.
This year, for the 18th annual Pilsen Open Studios, Vidal helped to organize a way for Juarez students to get involved with the event and also receive credit toward their 40 hours of community service required for graduation.
Students from Juarez helped with the guided tours and organized posters and
maps for the open galleries. Vidal was glad to see the students not only helping with the event, but was also pleased the students would see actual professional working artists in the Pilsen community.
He looks forward to organizing Juarez participation with Pilsen Open Studios in the years to come.
Voces de Pilsen is a special ongoing multimedia report focused on telling the stories of Pilsen residents.
