He's a British citizen now.

Why does everyone say that it was for Platoon? I mean, yes, they did play it in the film, but, the Adagio was not composed for that. Barber composed it for someone and something else.

Conductors are eye-candy. If the musicians are passionate - it works. Do not forget Soul's hit song "Don't give up on us Baby." The lowly Brits loved that song more than the Americans. But, what do the Brits know? Not Much!

I wouldn't go as far as to say that Americans have no appreciation of culture. True most Americans don't but I don't blame this man too much. I'm a violinist and I've seen my conductors struggle to conduct me because it is a really slow piece. It's the kind of piece that can't be conducted, you need to feel it. It's as much the musicians' fault as the conductors'. One last thing, I am also an Asian kid, born and raised here in America. You're, no offense, an amateur. Try to do it, I have.

Not true. Bruce Springsteen is an awesome musician. That does not guarantee, he could do this as well. Its as good as asking Michael Jackson doing a Travolta dance or otherwise. Music has many faces and styles; one man's soup could be another man's fly.
Brings tears to my eyes, especially knowing how much it meant to him.
