@SkeeterNYC here we go again with definitions of genres. I'd say yes this band were Gothic pioneers. Look at her she is a beautiful dark Teutonic ice queen who writes wonderful poetry about incubi /sucubi and mournful subject matter and they performed in dark cavernous clubs. it couldn't be anything but gothic

Siouxsie & The Banshees, Nina Hagen & Lene Lovich were already established when these guys started putting out records. This was part of the whole 4AD vibe going on. Yeah, I would never call this Gothic.
