Hey SDM, do you know what was kit being used in all the vids from the Axis booth this year? I know the cymbals are Meinl Soundcaster Fusion, which are awesome, but damn those drums sound so tasty!

The best thing about Derek is this video... He can sit on any kit, anywhere... and make it sound good! He runs through these toms like they were his own, and that's the hardest thing. Amazing...

@CanMetan And plus, don't complain about "speed". You know what Roddy plays mostly right? Death Metal. Which has some speed into it. Speed is a skill on drums. It depends how you do it and how you look at it. Sure someone just hitting random cymbals very fast doesn't seem skillful to some. But you need a lot of endurance and stamina to keep the pace on.

@CanMetan What about the beginning at the 40 sec mark. He plays a fantastic groove, and his fills are awesomely incorporated into it. Play some funky music behind what he was doing and it would suit it.
