** Chris Murphy - One Question the Press Would Never Think To Ask ** Thomaston, CT June 5, 2011

Representative Chris Murphy, Connecticut's 5th District Congressman, hosted his familiar "Congress On Your Corner" in Thomaston. CT midday on June 5, 2011. Murphy set up shop at the Country Grocer on Main Street, a block north of the famous Opera House.

Murphy is readily accessible to his constituents at these events. On this day very few people turned out to greet the 3rd term Democrat. In fact, only one person was there to ask any serious questions. And one light-hearted one as well.

The CT GOP has a recent history of rushing to embrace former Democrats and non-Republicans to run as Republicans rather than backing staunch conservative Republicans. How refreshing if the CT Republican Party would seriously consider winning elections rather than just settling to lose by not too big a margin!
