i do this allready but idk my bass drumming isnt very loud when im just jamming when i do a double bass riff like this. sometimes i find myself off the seat and basically leaning into the drumset and thristing down as hard as possible to get the fast loud effect. that tires me out after about 30 seconds lol

Dude, how long did it take to you to get this technique? I've been working on ankle motion for a year, almost everyday, and i got it, but only with my right foot, my left foot doesn't play nothing, do you have any suggestions?

@asthedrumer Yeah, but large muscles are much harder to move compared to small muscles. To play like that, u have to lift ur whole leg up and slam it back down. It's the equivalent of playing a single stroke roll on the snare using only ur shoulders & elbows with no finger or wrist. Possible? yes. powerful? yes. Efficient? no. it'll take forever to build up the speed. and it could hurt ur shins with all the force. This is more natural, and, once you get the legs even, easier to speed up.

@MaggotJoko it really does!!
@DrJizify, people like Steve Gadd and Bernard Purdie are absolutely amazing at drums but calm down. Fast double bass drumming is used in metal music, especially extreme metal where the power and speed is needed to express that kind of music. I personally find it very powerful when played correctly especially in context with the music. Just understand that taste in music is subjective.
