you don't need a "bright enough infrared pen". they don't exist. that's why you're supposed to make one correctly. Radioshack has infrared LEDs and push switches perfect for projectslike these; that's how I made mine.

Yeah I didn't have anything like that at the moment and I'll be honest I didnt think of going to radioshack... I had more fun making it on my own too with a christmas light and a pen tube from a broken pen I found, but when I get home from college I'll re-make one, thanks for the idea.

your an idiot. that pen is as infrared as the lamp in the video. you need an infrared light not just any random light.

Well firstly thanks for enjoying the video. And to answer your questions I dont own a bright enough infared light pen so I had to build my own and make it brighter. If my Wii Remote was closer to the TV then I wouldn't need to do this. I have to disconnect it because I dont have a button/switch to turn it off when I want to lift it off the screen. If it's still on when I lift it then it keeps drawing.
