sounds like its running rich and dying... starts right up then dies and it has a heavy gas smell

  • @naparealtor No it's because it's a Mazda

  • Take out your maf sensor and check the connections inside it. My 87 NA did the same thing until i did that. Or if you have the money just buy a new maf. If could also be a vacuum leak as well. I replaced all my vacuum hoses and it starts right up and runs fine now. I just have a problem with it idling too high now.

  • Yea it was one of the first years of fuel injection, they were still trying to work out the kinks. Look at my video, its a MAF sensor problem except for mine is N/A.

  • no my car did the same thing check ur exhoust manifold its probly really loose being that its fuel injected could have a stuck injector

  • hmm... yeahp sounds like its a vacuum line or MAF jammed. landcruiser did same, when the MAF sensor came unplugged.
