In the second episode I shot of Everybody Hates Chris, I play Mr. Perkins, a man who works for the Bronx Academy of Science which young Chris Rock is trying to get into because his buddy is going there. This was the season finale of Everybody Hate's Chris's most recent season, and it was directed by Jason Alexander (namedrop) who was awesome to work for.
You may recall that in the first episode of Everybody Hates Chris that I shot I played an IRS agent. That character didn't have a name, so I like to assume that Mr. Perkins used to work for the IRS but has gone on to work for the BA of S. That's how things work in the world of Everybody Hates Chris.
Everybody Hates Chris was the first audition I got through my last agent (who is no longer my agent although she still handles all my Everybody Hates Chris business), and I booked it. Hooray.
Everybody Hates Chris is far and away the best cast and crew I've ever worked with/for at every single level of production. And I may be biased, but I think Everybody Hates Chris is a really funny show. And I feel blessed to have been able to work with Tyler Williams, Terry Crews, and Tichina Arnold (especially Tichina as I was always a big fan of Martin) and to have Chris Rock's narration over scenes that I'm in.
I have done one more episode of Everybody Hates Chris since this one that will be part of the next season. I won't say what it's about, but it has the creepiest scene I think I've ever done. Here's hoping Mr. Perkins continues to reoccur.
