Wow. Look at the line of the bar at the start and how way far back the scapular is. Stay over the bar!

"The athlete frequently jumps back while squatting under the barbell with this type of trajectory, in order to move the support [the body] under the center of gravity of the system."

Bulgarian is only a style of training.
Here the lifter is displaying Group A-2nd trajectory according to Zhekov's research, "The 2nd reason is a result of an excessively vertical torso in the position preceding the explosion; where the angle between the torso and the vertical is small (10-12deg) In this instance, the explosion is carried out basically by the muscles which extends the legs and the lifter's force is directed primarily vertically and not forward and up."

bulgarian style?
Wasnt chelsea the model for Tommy Kono's lecture at the arnold where he taught people that this type of technique was exactly wrong?

@thesku11s It's extremely difficult to demonstrate technique with a broomstick, in fact, technical precision does not stabilize until you get to more than 80% weights. So if you are a coach or athlete, you should not pay tremendous attention to technique below 80% unless they are big errors. Once you get to 80%+ weights, you must be extremely critical of technique and minute issues that develop as they WILL be magnified with 90%+ weights.

@crackyflipside
I realise that. But I was rather curious about Kono strongly advising against the "hips low" "shoulders back" "upright torso" type technique which Chelsea is demonstrating perfectly here.
I am a newbie, I have no clue what is better. But I do realise that there have been excellent world champ lifters with both techniques. So perhaps it doesnt even matter?

@thesku11s Really depends on the lifter. As long as the fundamentals are being followed there shouldn't be a problem.
As for starting position and the argument of the hips, I find it silly watching Chinese lifters with a low static start. More focus should be on the position before the second pull. First pull exists to line you up for second pull. Objective of the first pull is to break bar off ground, transition to second pull, bring bar into hips, extend and catch.
