Opening scene/credits from Henri Verneuil's 1975 film PEUR SUR LA VILLE (AKA "The Night Caller", "Fear Over the City", and "Il poliziotto della brigata criminale"), starring Jean-Paul Belmondo.

Great Ennio Morricone soundtrack; reminiscent of ALMOST HUMAN (AKA "Milano odia: la polizia non può sparare").

  • No. The soundtrack is very similar for both films, however...Ennio Morricone ;-)

  • ok, and is the movie as good as "milano odia" ?

  • Hmm, not AS good, but still great!

  • Great film, great main theme...

  • Definitely. Is this a French giallo, I wonder!?

  • Along with The Burglars, and Sicilian Clan, another great Verneuil film. Belmondo's stunts were amazing. A great film tough guy. Thanks for the posting.

  • subtitles or audio in english, please, send me

  • @morriconelover

Yes, you are right, too. I would take a pragmatic point of view...whether one should name it a french giallo film or not, it is one of the best films of Belmondo and surely one of the best thrillers of his era.

It does have giallo elements, but we always know who the killer is, so in that way it isnt really a giallo.
