Charlie Rose and Erica Hill speak with Dr. Jennifer McVige, a pediatric neurologist, about the mysterious illness that has more than a dozen N.Y. teens from the same upstate school suffering from tics.
I am very sceptical because it only appears to be effecting females, and more specifically female teenagers. So unless it's from something that only female teens ingest then I don't think it's from any toxin in the environment. I do seem to favor mass hysteria. Mass hysteria happens all the time. For example, in other countries it is extremely common for episodes of mass hysteria involving students, especially females, to faint or pass out.
i find her hypothesis a bit" twilight zone"...But so is this story to begin with. this is my introduction to this story, But Dr. McVige seems to be reaching out on a limb with this "conversion disorder" diagnosis...Brockovich's second hand theory sounds far more plauseable.
