  • I have had these boots for nearly a year and they are the best boots I have ridden in, the store where I got them never explained where to put the heel cushion though.

There were also some yellow heel hold down pads that fixed with velcro to the inside of the boot, I'm not sure which way up they go in around the ankle. I want to fit them so I don't need to crank the lacing up so tight and my heel will be held in a little better....

Any instruction would be really appreciated.... Great review

  • They are intended to be placed on the ankle bone like an "L" on each side of the boot, but feel free to be creative when placing them for the best fit and performance.

I personally do not use mine.

The heel cushion goes under the foot bed at the heel.

  • Are burton boots true fit, i wear a size 10 shoe so do you think sie 10 boots will fit fine? (and no i can not try them on in store, that is just not possiable where i live.)

  • They are a TrueFit.

If you wear your shoes a touch loose you may want to go down a half size.

  • Would these Ion's be ok with NON est Burton Cartels (08)? Any drawbacks or so?

  • They will work fine.

The only draw back is that the EST bindings on a board with Channel will have much better feel and flex pattern than the non ESt binding.

The fit of the boot in the binding will be as seamless as any other Burton binding, granted you have the correct size and they are fitted correctly.

  • speed lacing systems are the best thing ever invented other than the channel, and the las two boots i've had have had the speed lacing system and there is nothing i can say thats bad about them

  • Never say never, but I beat on mine and they have not broken yet. I ride 100 plus days a season.

  • is that a bad thing?

i ended up buying the ozones the other day and i just got one more question, does the speed lace ever break? im terrified of pulling too hard and busitng it.

  • They are very similar, the ozone has the softer EST sole on top of the speed lace.

They are very similar beyond that.
