Just a quick video of me making a Rose bowl on the wheel.
This pot also has a rolled rim which is really easy to do but gives a nice thick bead to the top of the pot which you can use for other types and gives it a nice look.

  • your first pull is fascinating, what do you do with your hands?

  • i've only ever made ceramics by the coil method...but after watching a bunch of your videos, i think i'm ready to seriously try throwing. your work is amazing!

  • Ahh! I watch all your videos you're phenomenal. How long have you been throwing?

  • For an autodidact in a remote little town in northern Mexico you are quite a guide, thank you for that, I keep improving all the time, a close up shot at your hand movements from behind every once in a while, could illustrate us more with your great technique, if it does not bother sharing such detail, take care.

  • My mom would be proud of me when I make awkward lumps of clay that look like this 💩. If I made this ☝, then I'm awesome

  • You are my favorite Potter and easy to follow for a 75 yr oldtimer. Been doing pottery and home brewing beer/wine for 4 years. Thanks for the lessons. John in Indiana.

  • Great idea! Any idea where the wire grids can be purchased in the US?

  • @spiritjourneypots Thanks for that great info!

  • I really, really like this idea. My Mom grows sweet peas every year, and they would be beautiful displayed in a bowl like this. Thanks for sharing! :)

  • @NvrTuLate If you know your clay shrinks, say 12%, you take the diameter of, in this case, the grate and multiply the measurement by 1.12. That gives you the "wet" size you need to throw your pot to. So, if the grate measures 10cm, you will need to have an inner diameter of 11.2 cm. I've made piggy banks where I use a large cork in the end of the pig's nose (to make it easy to get the coins out), and this method works well for me. :)
