This is the TV segment of our final review at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, our 3rd and 4th year vertical studio designed and built a medical facility from a 20 foot shipping container.
Containers are earthquake and storm proof. I have been reading about using shipping containers for years and still nothing is being done about it. Who do we have to shoot to begin to shift these containers into homes?
I live in Hawaii and wonder about the heat transfer in these. The roof idea is great, however possibly a larger umbrella wooden/ceramic roof may be better. I notice that most houses out here have drawn out roofs compared to the north east, this is for sun and rain protection.
This is a great way to bring medical support to a clean sterile environment in an otherwise destroyed community, Search DON MIRRA and HAITI, to see a clinic in Haiti, and you can imagine how much stations like this could help overall!
You seem to know what you are talking about. My company GlobalPeaceContainers dot com is the first built-on-site container housing company in the US. We are unveiling new models for sale at this time and we will also build to suit. I am one of the first container house proponents in the U.S. (13 years experience). Look for us on the news in the future. If you are interested in communicating, please email admin at globalpeacecontainers dot com. Soren Ludwig, CEO.

This is a great idea. A great way to make use of containers in a third world setting. I am building a private residence (completly different criteria) using 8 shipping containers, in Canada. It is called zigloo domestique and you can check it out at www.zigloo.ca

Wow. This idea seems quite prescient in light of current events, no?
