Ranking Republican Member Dan Lungren (CA-03) offered an opening statement in support of the resolution, which would direct the Architect of the Capitol to place a marker in Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center to commemorate the slave laborers who contributed to the construction of the U.S. Capitol Building.
