"this person"? I expect you mean Nick?! And as far as I know he generally doesn't (if not never) mentions God as a reason for him pulling through, as I see it he DOES indeed take credit for changing his own attitude... That is sort of the message he's trying to send: CHOOSE to stand up, CHOOSE to be thankful for what you have no matter how little or how much you might have.
Then watch some more of his videos mate, he clearly states that God gave him the power to do this. Watch all of his videos. In his first videos he credits his own power and strength but as he gets older and in later videos he credits all this to god. Be open and listen and watch. I did not comment like that because i imagined it...
This is what I have come to learn: Chrisitanity was never meant to labled as a religion, it is a way of life. Committing to be a blessing for others, in a partnership with God and knowing God loves you so much that he wants to bless you too. Forget the word religion, it was created in the world as a deterent. I believe God is overjoyed when it is understood that he wants you to have a relationship with him, not a religion that leaves you feeling obligated.
Thank you, it is just so seldom that religious people (especially those from a monotheistic religion) shows this kind of insight and for that I just feel the need to thank you for you comment (as well as your insight) =)
