At my Granddad’s funeral last year I drew the short straw & got the job of researching & delivering a eulogy.
I couldn’t be bothered, so just made up a load of stuff about his brave actions on D-Day & in France/Holland in the following months- I got most of it from the plot of the first ‘Medal of Honour’.
It went down brilliantly- but it got written up in the local press & now some angry Veterans groups are onto me for ‘undue honours’. Why can’t they just let it rest, it was 65yrs ago!?
