There was a thread on metalguitarist.org about "writing metal riffs" where the poster said that he kept writing riffs that were all "power chords" (which generally means perfect fifth-based power chords) and wanted some suggestions on how to write metal rhythm guitar without using those chords. I felt like just randomly throwing a video together.
No planning went into this video. It was done entirely off the top of my head, so... DON'T COMPLAIN!!!! WEEEE!! As a result, I forgot to include some of the chords I use a lot in my own songs such as augmented and diminished chords.
The guitar is my galaxy black Ibanez RG1527 seven-string and it is being run through my Fractal Audio Axe-FX Ultra. And... yes... I know that the volume on the amp is kind of quiet. It was loud enough in the room, but I guess the camera's mic didn't pick it up too well. But since this is kinda like a metal guitar lesson, I guess it's not really that important.

@PhilosopherOnWeed
Thanks. I have a feeling that some people might watch this video expecting something completely different, though.

Weird to see no comments at all, but I liked the vid. Did a nice job on giving some options on using some fresher chords. Good job.
