The Sound aren't banal enough for metal.

  • The Sound was highly underrated. I have a dark post-punk band that's done a cover of "Winning" you can check out here on YouTube. Not enough of us these days.

  • The Sound, indeed! The sound of Joy Division's "Shadowplay!"

  • Just sub-Joy Division. OK, he may have had his demons but so did Donovan. Reminds me of Wasted Youth and Girls at our Best politico 80's shit. "What are we gonna do??? Amateurish, trivial and sad.

  • @hildaatje I met him in Sittard in the early 90s. We played quite a few small gigs together around Limburg. Later, after I moved back to London I saw him quite often for a while, then never heard from him again after 1996. I'm still close to a lot of people who knew him too.

  • @hildaatje Littlewoods was/is an English clothing company that was famous for selling cheap and badly styled clothes via mail order catalogues :)

  • @1982wig if you are happy, you're not able to write this kind of music.

  • @ElectricLabel Haha...just because of the grey suit,or perhaps a bit more as well?I am Dutch so can you explain;what does Littlewoods mean?Something like;smallminded or boring people I would imagine? But where did you meet him? I really am a huge fan....It wont harm anyone right?

  • @hildaatje Adrian was a good friend of mine. He didn't like this because he thought the grey suit made him look like "Littlewoods gone wrong". I'm pretty sure those were his exact words.

  • @ElectricLabel

Maybe a bit late...but thanks! It is totally out of tune, how can anyone not hear that?I seem to be the only one,so very happy with a bit of feedback.Just look at his glances towards the other two,and wrightfully so!

Then again,as I allready stated;not that uncommon during live performances,I have loads of examples. He was a bit of an"atonal"figure at times himself

But what I was wondering now;how do you know Adrian hated this?I,m really curious, being the die hard fan I am.
