I had SO much more to say, I actually had to cut a few bits out, which is why the editing is a little choppy--sorry about that! I know it's long, but I think there's some pretty good advice in here. If you have any questions about this video or this topic or would like to talk more about it, please ask! Even though I know coming out isn't for everyone, I'm really proud of those of you who decide to take this potentially anxious step because we are really helping out future asexuals by spreading visibility. Cheers!

  • ...some kind of celebrity who discovers that they are an ace or knows someone who is an ace to raise public awareness of this. Even though bigotry towards the gay and lesbian community exists, they are FAR more publicly accepted today than ever before. Aces will have their time to shine... perhaps a viral video will do this. One can only hope.

  • Regarding the "1% of the population" that I so often see; I believe it is far greater than this number. I believe that a greater percentage exists that don't even KNOW they are aces. These people that don't know may think they've got something seriously wrong with them and may even be seeking psychological help, and furthermore, the PSYCHOLOGIST may also not even KNOW about asexuality! LMAO! But yeah, I believe it's GOT to... gotta be at LEAST 7%. Just my theory. I wish we could get... [1]

  • Southie!! I like your alphabet thing in the background. Good advice, too. I think if your first coming out experience is negative, you're probably less likely to come out to others in the future. :( Let the people be accepting!!!

  • @HezaaZee I'll try to!! It's difficult because it's a very time-consuming process and sometimes I don't have the time for it, but I'll definitely make an effort!!

  • You should caption all your videos! I'm hearing, and I want to share many of your videos with my friends that are hard-of-hearing or deaf.

  • @ilypants Yay gerbils!! I hope they were aces ones. XD But yeah- they really do think they're being so original, like the people who make jokes about how we reproduce by "budding." We've pretty much heard it all.

  • @everhope Haha I love Invader Zim too! People really can be embarrassing heh, but the more aces "come out" the less people will ask such questions....maybe?? We can hope! Aww thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy the videos!! ^___^

  • @Otherness Haha I like the "Do you?" response. But yeah, I definitely agree with both your points. It's so much more difficult than coming out as homosexual, bisexual, etc, because people know what those mean- but when you say "asexuality" you have to explain it and people do always ask intrusive questions...But- the more we come out, the less future aces will have to "suffer" so yeeeah!
