  • I think The Byrds and the Beach Boys were the best US response to the British invasion ;)

  • "...and singing that wasn't all that good." -- Clark, Crosby, McGuinn and Hillman not 'all that good'? Yeah, okay. What planet you from again?

  • Ahh...Gene Clark on lead vocal!

  • @abt7217tc and Bells Of Rhymney

  • people pay so much attentionto Mcguinn's 12 string, they dont even listen to crosby. he was in beastmode on this track

  • this song should have been a single and been a number one...really their best song IMO

  • @smasica

    Really!!!!!

  • Love Gene Clark's voice on these outtakes ... so clear!!

  • @darling67 Brian carried the boys untill Pet Sounds, but after that Carl, Mike, Bruce and particuarly Dennis really emerged as brilliant songwriters. Sunflower, Pacific Ocean Blue, Surfs Up, Friends etc, were all real gems and Brian had little to do with them. That aside, In my opinion Brian Wilson contained as much talent as all the Byrds combined! Look at Pet Sounds, or Today or any of those singles. No single Byrd (or Beatle for that matter) could have made an album like that.

  • "Who sings the high part?" Wow, Melcher could be abrupt, couldn't he? No wonder Crosby disliked him.

  • Primo Gene!
