Orangutans face extinction in the wild within the next 5-10 years.

Organizations such as The Borneo Orangutan Survival International (BOS - http://www.savetheorangutan.org/ ) are fighting for the protection of Orangutan so they will exist in the wild for generations to come.

Please visit http://www.heartlandsfilms.com/node/28#orangutan
to read how you can also be part of the fight for survival of wild, endangered species such as the Orangutan.

Enjoy!

  • @eccentricoldcow As I understand it, the Indonesian Government has allowed palm oil companies to cut down the forests and sell the timber for a profit. They are then meant to reinvest those profits into oil-palm plantations. Oil-palm only starts producing fruit after 7 years, so once they plants seedlings (usually 2-3 years old), the companies have to wait 4-5 years before they start to make money. If they plant on land that is already deforested, then they don't get any money from timber.

  • This energy should be concentrated on the african people who are being killed starved disenfranchised and so fourth by corporations in africa.. you rich idiots just act concerned while looking on as the real crimes against humanity continue. I mean they are our relatives too right? even more so than the dam apes. you clowns act soooo concerned about apes and their capabilities but you fail to acknowledge a potentially awesome race. And I am not black or african you bunch of fucking idiots

  • I cannot comprehend the reasoning behind the destruction And persecution of these magnificent creatures and their habitat. The Indonesian government in a recent TV programme - Panorama in UK, stated they are planting trees to replace the rainforest! So if they have land to plant more trees, why can't they use that for the rotten Palm Oil plantations and leave the forest alone? Anyone else out of the 2,956 viewers got any comments?
